Singaporean creative studio Kinetic was facing a dilemma: they were traditionally seen as a print-based studio, but wanted show off their digital chops without losing their crafty heritage. The solution was a website do-over which mixed of both media, resulting in an entirely hand drawn fanzine website macabre pseudo-science thingamajig.

Technologically, Kinetic V5 set the benchmark by championing an entirely HTML5 approach in a landscape that was still clinging onto a cobwebbed Flash. Culturally, it became a cult hit, and went on to win big at festivals around the world.

And yes, after 5 years, it's still rocking the web.
